HEALTHY TEETH START WITH PREVENTION

Preventative Dentistry

Protect Your Smile for Life

Solid preventive care is the foundation for both oral and overall health. Good at-home hygiene, combined with professional cleanings, helps prevent decay, gum disease, and other dental issues. Regular exams allow us to catch minor concerns early—before they become more complex and costly problems.

Diagnostic & Prevention

We know life gets busy, and it’s easy to put off dental visits. But skipping your routine exams can lead to bigger, more expensive issues down the road. Coming in twice a year allows us to catch small problems early and keep your smile healthy. A regular checkup only takes about an hour, and we make it as comfortable as possible.

What’s included in diagnostic & prevention:

  • Comprehensive exams to detect early issues

  • Monitoring for cavities, gum disease, and other concerns

  • Personalized treatment plans for long-term oral health

Cleaning & Hygiene

Professional teeth cleanings remove plaque and tartar buildup, keeping your teeth and gums healthy while preventing cavities and gum disease. During your visit, we’ll also review your at-home hygiene routine and provide tips for maintaining a bright, healthy smile.

At-Home Care Tips:
  • Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste

  • Use a soft-bristled toothbrush for gentle cleaning

  • Floss once a day to remove plaque between teeth

  • Maintain regular cleanings every six months

Keeping up with professional cleanings and at-home care is the best way to prevent oral health issues before they start.

Digital X-Rays

Our office uses safe, high-resolution digital X-rays to provide clear images of your teeth and jaw structure. Digital X-rays allow us to diagnose hidden issues early, ensuring precise and effective treatment planning.

Why Digital X-Rays?

  • Low radiation exposure compared to traditional film

  • Quick, painless imaging with instant results

  • Clearer diagnostics for accurate treatment recommendations

Most patients receive one or two full sets of X-rays per year, with additional imaging if needed for emergencies or further assessment.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride strengthens enamel and helps prevent cavities before they start. After your cleaning, we apply a fluoride-rich varnish or gel to reinforce your teeth’s natural defenses.

How fluoride helps:

  • Strengthens and remineralizes tooth enamel

  • Helps prevent cavities and decay

  • Quick, painless, and highly effective

For the best results, we may recommend avoiding food and drinks for 30 minutes after application.

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants provide a protective barrier against decay, especially for hard-to-clean molars. While often recommended for children, they can benefit patients of all ages by preventing plaque and bacteria buildup.

How sealants work:

  • A thin resin coating is applied to molars

  • Cured with UV light to harden and protect the tooth

  • Lasts for years with proper care

  • This quick, non-invasive treatment is an excellent way to protect teeth from cavities long-term.

TMJ/TMD Treatment

If your jaw clicks, pops, or feels sore, you may have temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ/TMD). This condition can cause pain, tension, and difficulty chewing, but we offer custom treatments to help.

Treatment options may include:

  • Night guards to relieve jaw strain

  • Botox injections to relax tense muscles

  • Other minimally invasive solutions for long-term relief

If you're experiencing jaw pain or discomfort, schedule a consultation to find out how we can help.

Night Guards

Bruxism (teeth grinding) can cause tooth wear, jaw pain, and headaches, often without you even realizing it. A custom night guard acts as a protective barrier, preventing damage and alleviating symptoms.

Benefits of night guards:

  • Prevents grinding-related damage to teeth

  • Reduces jaw tension and discomfort

  • Improves sleep quality and bite alignment

If you wake up with sore jaws or frequent headaches, a custom night guard could help.

Sports Guards

Athletes are at risk for dental injuries due to falls, body contact, or flying objects. That’s why we offer FREE sports guards for young athletes to protect their teeth during high-impact activities.

Why wear a sports guard?

  • Protects against chipped, cracked, or knocked-out teeth

  • Custom-fitted for comfort and durability

  • Reduces risk of jaw and soft tissue injuries

A properly fitted sports guard keeps your smile safe so you can stay focused on the game.
